Providing an advanced level of clinical pharmacy service to the specialty.

We are delighted to invite applications to join our team of specialist clinical pharmacists in the Urgent and Emergency Care team at the Queens Medical Centre.

This exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced clinical pharmacistlooking for a new opportunity to develop their clinical, leadership and management skills.

We are looking for a motivated, forward-thinking, dynamic individual to join our senior team, who is keen to learn, innovate and push the service forward.

Our admissions unit which includes our Higher Level Care unit is one of the largest in the country, so we have built a large clinical pharmacy team to deliver an excellent 7-day service.

The post offers an outstanding opportunity to develop your portfolio of specialist knowledge and skills for the management of patients as part of the friendly, progressive and dynamic multidisciplinary team, as well as build on your leadership abilities.

You will be expected to be part of the leadership team for acute medicine, which currently consists of 6 specialist pharmacist posts, and take on a specific element of the service delivery e.g. education, training, governance, operational etc.

You will take on a specialty link role which will ensure specialty specific knowledge is maintained & up to date within the team.

You will work closely with the MDT, on & off the ward to support governance, education and medication safety, particularly supporting medicine optimisation on ward rounds, utilising your prescribing skills.

You will be expected to line manage one or more of the band 7 pharmacists on the team, providing mentoring, and supporting them with their objectives which may include starting out as an independent prescriber.

You will be responsible for ensuring the provision of an excellent clinical pharmacy service to the acute medicine Higher Level Care unit and Advance Respiratory Unit (ARCU).
