We are seeking a a permanent part time Data Entry Administrator to work in our friendly GP surgery.

We are looking for a motivated individual who is computer literate. Previous experience in the NHS is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided.

The position is 27.5 hrs per week, 5.5hrs per day Mon-Fri.

Responsible to: Practice Manager _________________________________________________________________________

Main duties and responsibilities of the post:

· Be responsible for scanning documents and downloading documents from EDT on a daily basis and sending the documents to the appropriate doctor.

· Receive highly sensitive and confidential information from patients and Practice staff.

· Be responsible for inputting high quality, accurate data using the appropriate read codes within set timescales.

· Assess own performance and take accountability for own actions, either directly or under supervision.

· Effectively manage own time, workload and resources.

· Contribute to the team’s effectiveness with self-reflection and reflecting on team member’s performance to improve ways of working.

· Use the Summarising Policy for guidance of what should be coded and whether it should be entered into the patient’s summary.

· Identify errors and be able to question entries.

· Dispose of any patient information appropriately i.e. shredding the document

· To ensure that strict confidentiality protocols are adhered to.

· Preparing and supplying patient’s medical records at the request of Solicitors/ patients/ Consultants in accordance with GDPR or Access to Medical Records Act.

· Use of PC on a daily basis requiring a high level of concentration for speed and accuracy.

· Responsible for monitoring 2WW rule cancer audit

· Manage and action correspondence from Diabetic Eye Screening service

· To cover duties for other members of staff, this may arise in the case of absence, sickness and holidays.

· Attending and contributing to practice meetings.

· To comply with health & safety procedures and report any areas of concern to the Practice Manager.

· Relief cover for medical secretary.

· To undertake any other duties as may be determined from time to time to ensure the efficient running of the practice.

Personal & Professional Development:

· Advanced read coding

· Advanced medical terminology

· Clinical system training on EDT-light

· Participate in training programmes implemented by the Practice and participate in an annual appraisal

RISK MANAGEMENT

It is a standard element of the role and responsibility of all staff of Dr Mirza and Partners that they fulfil a proactive role towards the management of risk in all of their actions. This entails the risk assessment of all situations, the taking of appropriate actions and reporting of all incidents, near misses and hazards.
