NHS Commercial Solutions is looking for a Category Officer to join our team with a primary focus on Support Services which covers Digital, Estates and Facilities.

NHS Commercial Solutions is looking for a Category Officer to join our team with a primary focus on Support Services which covers Digital, Estates and Facilities. This is a great opportunity to develop your career in procurement in an NHS collaborative procurement organisation. The role will primarily support the team in processes and delivering high value strategic procurement initiatives to trusts in the South-east region. You will work closely with NHS Commercial Solutions procurement and business intelligence colleagues, and there will be scope to lead your own projects supported by category specialists within the team.

This role will suit a recent graduate, supply chain or procurement professional. The role is for a Category Officer who will deliver procurement and contract support to our corporate category team.

NHS Commercial Solutions is an NHS collaborative procurement organisation providing strategic procurement services to NHS organisations within Kent, Hampshire, Surrey, Sussex and further afield. NHS Commercial Solutions has delivered savings in excess of £220 million working in partnership with trusts and with multiple stakeholders to deliver cash releasing savings, cost and quality improvements across a wide range of categories.

The role is a permanent position, based at our offices in Dorking, Surrey.

The post-holder will provide a centralised procurement administrative support to the Estates, Facilities and Digital Category teams in general operations, project and analytical support. You will also be involved in running end to end tender and contracting process using e-tender portals and other associated tools. The role requires application of good interpersonal skills in meeting with a varied range of stakeholders that includes Suppliers, end users from various organisations, visiting sites or meet them virtually, arranging meetings, writing minutes and following up with the agreed actions.

The post-holder will, at time to time, provide reports to Procurement directors/Associate Directors on usage data.

Qualifications


Essential criteria

Degree or equivalent relevant qualifications or experience

CIPS Level 4 Diploma or equivalent is Essential


Desirable criteria

Working towards CIPS Level 5 is Desirable, or equivalent qualification or relevant experience.

Essential criteria

3 year of working within EU Procurement Directives and or Public Contracts Regulation 2

3 years of demonstratable experience of using MS Office suite, especially Excel, Word, Powerpoint

3 years experience in a customer/ user-facing environment




Desirable criteria

Experience of Project Management and Suppliers Relationship Management
