Were looking for a Rotational Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy Team at the London Bridge Hospital, currently rated "Outstanding by the CQC.

During your day, you will assist with ensuring professional operational standards and excellence in pharmaceutical care and medicines management are maintained across the campus.

You will contribute to the day to day running of the Pharmacy, supporting the operational management of the core pharmacy services, including our three dispensaries & aseptic unit, pharmacy procurement, stock control and management, medicines distribution, Omnicell inventory management, stock top-up and medicines management to all patient locations. You will report to the Head Pharmacy Technician, and will be supported by senior technicians and pharmacists.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Dispensary Services

Accurately identify, select, label using Meditech, dispense and distribute drugs (including controlled drugs) for in and outpatients prescriptions according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Ensure medication is dispensed to meet agreed delivery times and to minimize waiting times for patients.

Undertake reception duties, involving dealing with patients, relatives and handling prescription charges/crediting unused medicines. Accuracy check dispensed items following completion of Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician qualification.

Participate in counselling on the use of medicines and in the provision of information on medicines to patients, doctors and other health care staff.

Deal with queries from patients and other hospital staff, referring complex issues to more senior staff.

Ensure that all medicines are stored according to environmental requirements (e.g. temperature, security) and to required security standards.

Ensure stock levels of all products are accurate and support the appropriate ordering of stock through liaison with pharmacy purchasing and procurement office.

Assist in the documentation and preparation of emergency drug boxes.
