An exciting opportunity has arisen to become a Medical Laboratory Assistant.Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) is the leading Trust for teaching, research and specialist services in the North West of England.
Central Specimen Reception (CSR) is accommodation in the Clinical Sciences Complex, on the Oxford Road Campus of Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT). Please note this is a full time post - 37.5 hours per week (Site: ORC, TGH, NMGH, WYTH (multisite working) 24/7 rota) This position is based at Trafford General Hospital.
The department runs a state-of-the-art automated blood track, to support the Trust's leading laboratories. The team you'll be joining provides a quality service unpacking, labelling, registering specimens a well as using pre- and post-analytic equipment.The post offers a great opportunity to gain laboratory experience in Blood Sciences, in a stimulating environment with support from a highly experienced and committed team of professionals. CSR provides a 24/7 service and the post will be rostered for shifts to support this. You will also be expected to work at other MFT Specimen Receptions when required.
A good standard of education (to GCSE level or equivalent) is necessary as are good keyboard skills. You should be flexible, methodical and organised with good communication skills. Full in-service training will be provided.You will be supported throughout with regular reviews of progress to develop appropriate knowledge and skills to enable personal development.
