Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a Healthcare Science Support Worker (higher MLA) to join their paediatric Laboratory Medicine department in Liverpool. The role requires an enthusiastic individual with strong communication skills and attention to detail, contributing to a high-quality diagnostic service through team collaboration. Key responsibilities include sample reception and pre-analytical processing, performing analytical functions under supervision, managing patient and specimen data entry, addressing sample reception queries, and maintaining laboratory supplies. The candidate will also engage in various diagnostic and housekeeping duties, adhere to health and safety protocols, and participate in continuous development within the lab setting.

The successful applicant will prioritize workloads, manage clerical tasks, ensure safe handling of specimens, and participate in quality control and equipment maintenance. They will be expected to engage in ongoing training, contribute to improving laboratory practices, and participate in late shifts as necessary.
