Job Summary: Consultant in Plastic Surgery with Subspecialist Interest in Dermato-Oncology
Location: Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, London
Type: Full Time - 10 Programmed Activities (PAs)
Role Overview:
The Plastic Surgery Department is seeking a consultant with a focus on skin cancer management, particularly within a multi-disciplinary team setting. Candidates must have experience in cutaneous oncology and be excellent team players.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide specialized plastic surgical services related to dermato-oncology.
  • Participate in sector leading multi-disciplinary team (MDT) meetings.
  • Ensure high standards of patient care and engage in clinical activities.
  • Involvement in teaching and training of undergraduate and postgraduate students.
  • Support clinical service management and development, including across satellite sites.
  • Contribute to the future growth of the Plastic Surgery department.
Qualifications Required:
  • Medical degree with GMC specialist registration and a license to practice.
  • Candidates should be on the Specialist Register or within six months of completing their training.
Additional Requirements:
  • Regular interaction with vulnerable populations, necessitating a criminal records check.
  • Adherence to job plan hours, with potential for variations as per contract terms.
This role is integral to the hospital's Dermatology Institute and requires a collaborative approach with existing plastic surgery consultants and dermatology colleagues.
