Band 7: £51,883 to £58,544 a year per annum inc HCAS (pro rata if P/T)  PERMANENT 
It is essential you hold a relevant clinical qualification and have previous experience of working in a mental health support team at Band 6 level or above or specialist or early help children and young people's mental health team; additional post-graduate training in an evidenced based treatment modality such as CBT or DBT or experience of working in an educational setting would be a bonus.

The Senior Practitioner will be responsible for the caseload management and supervision of all clinical staff in a Mental Health Support Team and will facilitate wider service transformation within the teams locality in conjunction with other senior MHST staff and school mental health leads. The post holder will ensure the provision of high-quality, short term outcome focused evidence-based interventions for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties in and around schools.

The post holder will contribute to the training and development of all staff including trainee Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHPs) within the team, through observations, modelling, co-facilitation, training, and ongoing support and ensure the staff within the team are equipped with the necessary knowledge, attitude and capabilities to operate effectively in an inclusive, value driven service.

Working under the direction of the Team Manager and Team Clinical Lead, the post-holder will also be responsible for liaising directly with schools, developing and co-producing materials for delivery/presentation in schools, and supporting the development and embedment of the MHSTs in schools.

The post-holder will carry a caseload and be actively involved in delivering universal and targeted group and individual interventions in schools. This will be mainly for those children and young people who have more complex or severe needs however can still be best met within the MHST structure.

The role will include helping to develop and deliver a wide range of interventions, projects and system change with the aim of whole school and whole community approach to supporting young peoples mental health.
