Band 7: £46,148 to £52,809 a year per annum  PERMANENT  GOOD SALARY 

We would like to invite applications for a Band 7 Clinical Scientist position in Clinical Biochemistry at York & Scarborough Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, which is part of the SHYPS pathology network.

This full time post will be based at York Hospital but the post holder will be expected to work on other sites (not more frequently than one day a week) as required. The successful applicant will support the routine biochemistry service including participation in duty biochemist rota, reporting of protein electrophoresis and attendance at MDT meetings, and will be fully supported to progress through FRCPath exams.

We are a really friendly department with a great record in training and have an active research collaboration with gastroenterology. We are an accredited STP training centre, and are happy to consider applications from those in their final year of STP training, or equivalent.

The post holder will be expected to provide clinical and scientific advice to other health professionals on the selection, performance, and interpretation of clinical biochemical investigations. They will have particular responsibilities for investigations referred to external laboratories and the investigations performed within a specified area the laboratory, and will participate in research and development and clinical audit.
