Band 4: £26,530 to £29,114 a year per annum pro rata  PERMANENT 
Liaising with GP surgeries regarding any issues, errors or anomalies.

The post holder must be able to work a Monday. Part time hours would be considered.

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen within our Cancer Services team for a urgent suspected cancer Fast Track Team Leader to manage suspected cancer referrals received by the Trust. The referrals need to be coordinated within appropriate timeframes and the role is key to helping us achieve our cancer targets.

The successful candidate will line manager a small team and must be efficient, caring, proactive and patient-focused with an appreciation and understanding of the confidential nature of the work. Applicants should be able to demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail, be excellent communicators with good telephone skills and have the ability to meet deadlines on a daily basis, whilst maintaining a positive approach and providing a quality service that supports patient care.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Line manage a small team with support from Quality and Cancer Performance Manager
  • Contacting patients by telephone to arrange appointments
  • Speaking with patients regarding their cancer referral, encouraging early attendance where necessary
  • Highlighting capacity issues and chasing for resolution
  • Liaising with GP surgeries regarding any issues, errors or anomalies
  • Using NHS systems to book patient appointments and deal with referrals.
