The main aim of the role is to ensure those accessing our services have a voice that is heard at every level of the provider collaborative, from individual ward rounds and treatment plans, right through to our partnership board meetings.
The post holder will work closely with one of our partner provider services developing good working relationships with those accessing the service and staff alike. They will facilitate engagement sessions, hold spaces for individuals to share ideas and feedback about how the service is delivered on a one to one, attend community meetings and champion co-production in all service developments.
The post holder will support individuals to prepare, attend and debrief CTRs. They will also support individuals to complete feedback forms and discharge questionnaires created for SupportED West Mids. for the purpose of quality assurance and monitoring.
In addition to the above the post holder will be a valued member of the SupportED West Mids. Provider Collaborative team, they will have regular group supervision with the Professional Lead for Lived Experience, alongside one to one professional supervision from a senior colleague. Within the service they are aligned to the post holder will promote the work of SupportED West Mids., supporting individuals to sign up to and participate in co-production opportunities within the collaborative.
Main duties and responsibilities
Develop a diverse range of opportunities for individuals to provide feedback on the quality of care and service delivered including group and 1:1 sessions, online, virtual and creative opportunities.
Champion a recovery orientated service including promoting involvement, engagement, participation and co-production opportunities.
Actively promote and support the development of SupportED West Mids. lived experience network.
Provide bespoke one to one support to help individuals sign up to become a member of SupportED West Mids lived experience group, provide feedback, attend network meetings and participate in co-production opportunities.
Support the lived experience reps with the completion of claim forms for remuneration following involvement in work on co-production projects and support the processing of these for example: sending to finance.
Produce marketing and communication materials for SupportED West Mids lived experience network, involvement, participation and co-production opportunities including; leaflets, articles, posters, webpages and videosas required.
Participate in collating information and contributing to reports specific to lived experience network and involvement, engagement, participation and co-production within the collaborative.
Draw on own lived experience to offer understanding, support and hope to individuals accessing the service and promote independence and recovery.
Challenge any stigma which may exist within the service, local communities and partner organisations.
Work closely to support the rest of the SupportED West Mids team with new ideas and concepts.
To contribute to the development of the lived experience offer within SupportED West Mids and the wider lived experience network within MPFT.
Actively engage in learning and personal development opportunities.
Represent and uphold the values of the Trust and be an appropriate role model, promoting equality and diversity for all those accessing services, their carers and loved ones, staff and other stakeholders.
To make full use of supervision, peer support with other lived experience staff and other support as necessary to remain well and safe in the peer role, and to work with the challenges of using lived experience to support people with potentially difficult and distressing issues.

To attend clinical, business & service development meetings as required.
To raise the profile of the lived experience network and wider workforce both within MPFT, and externally, through co-delivery of presentations, workshops, and participation in projects and audits: and information sharing as required and as agreed with the line manager.
