Band 4: £26,530 to £29,114 a year pa  SECONDMENT 

As a Smoke Free Pregnancy Practitioner you will work with the Lead Treating Tobacco Dependency Specialist Midwife to deliver smoking cessation support to women within the Maternity Service at NHS North West Anglia Foundation Trust.

The Smoke free Pregnancy Practitioners role will contribute to tackling health inequalities through promoting and supporting Smoke free Pregnancies across the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough System. It will focus on engaging pregnant women and the families to adopt healthy lifestyles through providing tobacco dependence treatment in line with Saving Babies Lives Care Bundle v2, NICE Guidance and the NHS Long Term Plan.

The post holder will be responsible for establishing and maintaining communication with pregnant women who smoke, in which strong interpersonal skills are essential. A commitment to working collaboratively with community stakeholders, service users and carers, to help reduce health inequalities across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough is essential. The post holders will be delivering evidence-based interventions that focus on behaviour change, and licenced treatment aids of which training can be offered to enable delivery.

To support the delivery of a high quality, safe and compassionate healthcare service, all staff are expected to act as a role model to others in all aspects of their work and consistently demonstrate the core values of the NHS, reducing health inequalities and improving health outcomes for all.
