The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Health Play Specialist/Nursery Nurse for their Children and Young Peoples Oncology/Haematology Ward at the Great North Children's Hospital. This full-time role (37 hours and 30 minutes per week) involves providing emotional support and therapeutic play for children and young people undergoing treatment for cancer and hematological conditions.

Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting and educating parents/carers during stressful hospital experiences, encouraging their active participation in care.
- Working with children with various disabilities and developmental needs.
- Facilitating play to alleviate anxieties and promote emotional well-being, ensuring children understand their healthcare and treatment.
- Collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team and contributing to the overall development and maintenance of the play service.

Qualifications required include knowledge and experience in developmental and therapeutic play. The role also involves escorting patients to procedures and evaluating play effectiveness.
