To enhance the delivery of services to adult patients with Cystic Fibrosis (CF) cared for at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. You will be joining an experienced team of Cystic Fibrosis (CF) professionals working within a growing patient cohort.The predominant focus of the role will be the support and coordination of outpatient and inpatient care of patients with CF.
Following attainment of sufficient experience it expected that the post holder will be involved in other aspects of CF care including, but not limited to, support of the home intravenous antibiotic programmes, assessment of day cases and ward attenders and support the weekly CF clinics and transition clinics.

This is a part time post and will be based at Glenfield Hospital
The post holder will undertake a period of supervised practice that will support the completion of clinical competencies relevant to the Band 6 role with the possibility to progress into a Band 7 role after the completion of consultation skills and non-medical prescribing modules. They will be working towards becoming an integral member of the cystic fibrosis team working collaboratively with nursing and allied healthcare professionals. The post holder will observe advanced practice and work fully supervised until assessed as competent, within agreed protocols and guidelines in history taking, examination, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of a caseload of acutely ill patients who may have highly complex needs to minor ailments.The post will primarily be located at Glenfield Hospital but may extend across UHL and adult inpatient wards working at all times under an appropriate level of supervision as part of the development role.
A minimum of 80% of time must be spent in clinical practice.
