The Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatment (SACT) Scheduler at East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust in Margate is primarily responsible for the accurate and timely entry of chemotherapy patient information into the KOMS patient management system. This role involves coordinating the chemotherapy scheduling process, ensuring effective communication with the Multi-Disciplinary team, and facilitating patient appointments in alignment with cancer pathways and targets. The Scheduler must have a good understanding of both oral and IV chemotherapy regimens and work closely with unit managers and nursing staff to meet patient needs and ensure seamless service delivery.

Additionally, the SACT Scheduler oversees the daily operations of the Chemotherapy Scheduling service, ensuring compliance with local and national guidelines, and identifies the need for support services for patients. The position requires the ability to escalate new chemotherapy regimens for inclusion in the scheduling system and maintain effective interaction with internal Trust departments for treatment and observations. Overall, this role is crucial for maintaining the efficiency of chemotherapy services and enhancing patient care within the oncology unit.
