The Tissue Viability Specialist Nurse at the University Hospital of North Midlands NHS Trust in Staffordshire will play a key role in managing complex wounds across a large acute care setting. This position involves daily assessment and management of patients' wounds, providing education to ward staff, and leading initiatives for the prevention of hospital-acquired pressure ulcers. The nurse will work alongside the Senior Clinical Tissue Viability specialist, contributing to the development of guidelines, evaluating medical products, and enhancing clinical practice through educational programs.

Candidates should be registered nurses with expertise in wound care and pressure ulcer management, capable of autonomously planning and implementing individual wound care plans based on evidence-based practices. The nurse will collaborate with various clinical teams, participate in audits and research projects, and ensure that comprehensive records of interventions are maintained. This role requires mobility across different hospital sites and the ability to communicate effectively within the trust to foster staff engagement in tissue viability practices.

More about the NHS
The National Health Service (NHS) is a cornerstone of healthcare in the United Kingdom, established in 1948 with the simple yet profound principle of providing healthcare to all citizens, free at the point of use. This revolutionary system aimed to ensure that access to medical services would not depend on an individual’s financial situation, a concept that has since become fundamental to British societal values.Learn more...
