The Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dynamic and motivated Nurse Endoscopist for a Band 8a position in Ashton Under-Lyne. The role involves performing diagnostic and therapeutic upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopies as an independent practitioner, contributing to service development across a comprehensive gastroenterology service that includes advanced modalities like capsule endoscopy and a tertiary EUS/ERCP service. The appointee will provide professional leadership, manage a caseload of patients, and engage in high-quality, patient-centered care while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to enhance endoscopy services.

The Nurse Endoscopist will also be involved in ensuring compliance with standards and assisting in the achievement of JAG accreditation. Responsibilities include identifying the need for further investigations, adapting to flexible working schedules to cover endoscopy sessions, and participating in quality improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a clinical expert within their specialist service, adept at utilizing research to inform practice and influencing all aspects of patient care and management.
