We are looking for a Security Advisor to support the Health Board's lead on Security Management including district general hospitals as well as community based services. The post holder will support on the implementation of the Health Board Security Strategy and Policy and provide the direction for the reduction in risks associated with security management within that area/division. The postholder will be based in Central.
To advise and assist with the development of a victim support service/case management for those involved with incidents of workplace violence and aggression from incident to conclusion. This includes collaborative work with all stakeholders, including Police, Courts and Crown Prosecution Service etc. and providing feedback/outcomes to victims.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
To provide a professional and innovative security function.
To provide support to develop, implement, review and evaluate strategies, policies and procedures relating to the prevention of crime. This includes, but not limited to CCTV, Lone Working, emergency and major incident responses.
To provide competent professional advice on all matters of violence and aggression and security to all levels of managers and employees to assist with legislative compliance.
Research and disseminate best practice in health and safety management of risks associated with violence, aggression, and security.
To develop an understanding of the legal system and processes along with organisational policies and procedures in line with the requirements stipulated within the Obligatory Responses to Violence in Healthcare (ORV).
To thoroughly investigate incidents of violence, aggression and security in order to identify root causes and share learning.
To provide support by developing competencies locally, in the completion of risk assessments and development of risk profiles to develop a consistent approach towards violence, aggression and security risk management and in alignment with all three areas of responsibility within the health board.
To attend BCUHB security management meetings in regard to violence, aggression and security, including the production of regular reports.
To monitor and develop the Datix incident reporting system by reviewing incidents.
To support the Health Boards lead on Security Management including district general hospitals as well as community based services. To lead on the development, review and management of the security risk profile process within their area of responsibility, providing assurance, to the Head of Health and Safety, that security risks are being managed in accordance with statutory legislation and national guidance.
To be responsible for day to day management of security related staff, including externally provided, both on BCUHB sites within their area/division/region.
The post holder will assist with the development of a comprehensive strategy and policy framework within their area of responsibility to ensure the safety and security of patients, staff and visitors.
