University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Locum Consultant in Colorectal Surgery to join their colorectal team within the Surgery Care Group. This role involves managing a general surgical caseload, including major trauma, while focusing on subspecialist colorectal interests. The successful candidate will work alongside a team of 13 consultants in a busy tertiary referral teaching hospital, engaging in activities such as elective laparoscopic and open surgeries, MDT meetings for colorectal cancer and inflammatory bowel disease, as well as outpatient clinics. The position includes a 10+1 PA job plan with responsibilities for covering unselected emergency weekend duties on a 1:20 rota.

Candidates must have GMC specialist registration and ideally possess a postgraduate higher degree or post CCT fellowship. The role offers opportunities for management, training, teaching, and involvement in research and trials.
