Our service covers the urban and rural areas Mendip. This position includes dayshifts and are usually 8am-4pm, 9am-5pm or 10am-6pm. You will be required to also work twilight shifts (2pm-10pm) and one in four weekends which include additional unsocial hours enhanced payments. There are no night shifts. You will need a driving licence with your own vehicle to visit patients. We offer a generous mileage allowance to cover the use of your car for NHS business, which includes both mileage and depreciation.

You will develop a broad range of nursing skills, including IV medication administration, palliative and end of life care, complex wound management, catheter and continence care, diabetes management, PICC line care, medication administration, and drain tube management.
You will need to make autonomous clinical decisions and create holistic care plans, with the support of your colleagues and Team Leader. Comprehensive training and guidance will be provided by our Clinical Lead nurse.

Community Nurse skills are vast and include wound care, medication administration, IVs, Compression, End of life care including syringe drivers and stat doses, PleurX drains, nephrostomy care, verification of death and much more.
We work closely with other community services and GP practices to ensure the best possible patient care.
