The role of Matron at the Lewisham Surgical Centre, part of the Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust, is a pivotal leadership position aimed at shaping the future of healthcare in South East London. The successful candidate will oversee clinical operations in a new, state-of-the-art facility focused on high-volume Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) day case surgeries. Key responsibilities include ensuring efficient service delivery in line with national elective best practice standards, providing strong clinical leadership, managing a team of clinical nurse specialists, and engaging with patients and healthcare professionals to enhance the patient experience.

The role demands a high level of clinical expertise and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, with responsibilities extending to risk management, incident analysis, and strategic service development. The Matron will play a crucial part in promoting patient-focused care, maximising theatre utilisation, and supporting the collaborative work with the Trust and external partners to advance quality care and improve patient outcomes.
