To direct scientific, medical and support staff in the delivery and development of Audiology services provided by Aneurin Bevan University Health Board. To be clinically responsible for all patients seen within the Audiology Service across ABUHB. To act as lead clinician for the Audiology service within the Health Board so holding corporate accountability for compliance with ethical, professional, clinical governance and corporate governance requirements.
To direct operational management, with responsibility for financial, workforce and other resources. To direct research and development activity within the service. To direct the strategic planning of the service - coordinating clinical, research, training and managerial activities to achieve internally or externally set objectives. To interpret national policies and advise Health Board management and clinical leadership on the strategic direction of Audiology services. To provide expert advice and negotiate with commissioners of healthcare (and other agencies) on matters relating to service standards, objectives, resourcing and development of services.
To fulfil a substantial clinical role which will include performing highly specialist clinical procedures within the service as a consultant scientific practitioner. To liaise with the ENT Directorate Manager and General Manager of the Scheduled Care Division in ensuring that the Audiology Service meets Welsh Government Quality Standards for Adult and Paediatric Audiology.
At a national level to make significant and on-going contribution to developing science and clinical practice within the field of Audiology. To ensure that the Audiology Services at ABUHB Health Board are an exemplar in the UK.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
