The Health Research Authority (HRA) is seeking a Deputy Director of Digital in Nottingham to lead a significant digital transformation program aimed at enhancing the research approvals service for health and social care in the UK. Reporting to the Chief Digital Transformation Officer, the role involves ensuring continuity of live service as the transition to business as usual progresses, while also overseeing the allocation and coordination of development resources, including business analysts and technical teams. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and experience in managing both in-house and outsourced teams, adherence to government functional standards, and effective communication with stakeholders throughout the transformation process.

In addition to managing project work using recognized methodologies like SAFe Agile and PRINCE2 Agile, the Deputy Director will oversee the Approval Regulation Support Service, monitor project dependencies, and contribute actively to the HRA Digital strategy. A comprehensive understanding of research applications software and IT service management within a regulatory context is essential, as is alignment with the Department of Health's vision to improve the UK's clinical research ecosystem.
