The Head of Communications at Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust is a fixed-term position for 12 months, serving as the primary communications lead for the Trust. Reporting to the Director of Corporate Affairs, the role encompasses managing all internal and external communications to enhance the Trust's reputation among colleagues, stakeholders, patients, and the public. Key responsibilities include developing communications strategies aligned with significant transformation and reconfiguration plans, fostering constructive relationships with the media, and coordinating communications for various projects. The post holder is also tasked with handling sensitive information, managing the communications budget, supervising staff, and providing guidance on media interactions.

In addition to overseeing the Trust's communication functions, the Head of Communications will create opportunities for stakeholder engagement, manage reputation-related initiatives, and ensure effective dissemination of key strategic issues. The role requires strong leadership in delivering difficult messages in politically sensitive situations, as well as expertise in analyzing media coverage and promoting the Trust's objectives via digital platforms. Overall, the position is pivotal in shaping the Trust's communication landscape and ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
