The Wirral University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust seeks a highly motivated OPAT IV Access Specialist Nurse for a 12-month maternity cover position within their multi-disciplinary OPAT IV Access team. This role involves providing specialized care for patients requiring IV antibiotics in home or community clinic settings, with a focus on supporting early discharge and reducing hospital admissions. The nurse will work closely with secondary care and community services while also offering training, education, and advice to community nursing teams and GPs.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing a variety of clinical skills, including line placement, and will rotate to support the WUTH IV access service. This position requires the individual to be based at WUTH while also serving the community, necessitating a valid driving license and access to a vehicle for work. Core working hours are Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm, with an additional on-call weekend duty from home.
