The role of an Occupational Therapist (Band 6) for Mobility at Queen Elizabeth’s Foundation for Disabled People in Carshalton involves assessing and recommending outdoor mobility solutions for clients, particularly in relation to driving safety, wheelchair and mobility scooter suitability, and vehicle access. Candidates should ideally be qualified Occupational Therapists at Band 5 or Band 6 level or hold equivalent qualifications in related fields. Responsibilities include conducting practical assessments, advising on equipment for individuals’ medical and lifestyle needs, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams, and providing training for staff and other professionals. The position offers flexible hours and extensive training opportunities while working to promote client independence.

The role also encompasses driving assessments in collaboration with driving instructors, as well as maintaining accurate clinical records and reports according to the established guidelines. Additionally, the Occupational Therapist will supervise support staff and engage in ongoing professional development. The position may require work at various locations and adapting to changing responsibilities within the organisation. Candidates must also pass pre-employment checks, including a DBS check.
