St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking applications for a Consultant in Clinical Genetics with a focus on rare diseases, offering a position of 10 Programmed Activities (PAs). The ideal candidate will be an experienced, enthusiastic, and dynamic individual with a passion for utilizing genomic data to enhance care for patients with rare diseases. The role involves holding clinics at St George's Hospital and various locations across Surrey and West Sussex, and applicants must be on the GMC Specialist Register or close to attaining a Certificate of Completion of Specialty Training (CCST) at the time of the interview.

The successful candidate will join a supportive and innovative team, contributing to cancer genetics referrals while developing their specialist interests in line with departmental needs. The role includes opportunities to lead specialist cancer services, participate in cross-trust collaborations to promote genomic medicine, and provide training for junior colleagues and support for Genetics Counsellors in managing complex cases. The job description is pending Royal College approval, and the PAs can be allocated between Direct Clinical Care and Supporting Professional Activities based on the post holder's requirements and Trust needs.
