The role of "Acute Oncology Navigator - Nursing Associate" at East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust involves being part of the Acute Oncology Service team at Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother Hospital in Margate. The position requires a qualified Nursing Associate to provide patient care and support within a 7-day service, working from 8 AM to 6 PM. While previous oncology experience is preferred, it is not mandatory; however, experience in an acute setting is essential. Key responsibilities include effective communication with patients and their families, maintaining high standards of care, developing clinical protocols, ensuring accurate patient records, and fostering strong relationships with multidisciplinary team members.

As a registered professional, the Nursing Associate will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for acutely ill patients, acting as their advocate and ensuring their physical, social, and psychological needs are met. The role also involves actively participating in the cancer care line and adhering to professional standards set by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
