HIOW Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust Adults Portsmouth has three wards, Nelson Ward and Cumberland Ward are each a 20 bedded ward based on the 1st Floor of Harrick Sotnick House, and Spinnaker Ward is a 16 bedded rehabilitation ward based within St Mary's Health Campus Portsmouth.
The team work hard to ensure high quality person-centred care is at the heart of everything we do, and our staff are supported in their roles and encouraged to develop. You will be required to work within the wider multi-disciplinary team providing evaluating and communicating effectively with other teams within the Service.
To organise and deliver therapy activities as part of the agreed intervention plan for patients under the supervision of a therapist.
To assist the Therapists in carrying out interventions and to ensure the smooth running of the service.
The postholder works under the supervision of a therapist to carry out interventions with a defined group of patients. They should ensure that they work within the scope of their competency meeting Trust and professional standards and are expected to seek guidance when needed.
This role will provide support in management of risk, developing therapeutic relationships, supporting people to live meaningful and fulfilling lives.
Act as a role model for team members, supporting new or less experienced colleagues.
This role will demonstrate excellent communication skills, using them to engage, persuade or negotiate with clients with complex, at times challenging needs to ensure they are provided with the most appropriate care and support.
