We are seeking clinicians who can help shape the future of Acute and Same Day Emergency Care pathways contributing to our emerging clinical strategy.

  • Possible annualised job planning
  • Time for internal and external teaching
  • Supporting your clinical interests
  • Standard study leave budget of £1000 per year

These are highly motivated and focused departments, which pride themselves on delivering the highest standards of safe patient care. Clinical governance is central to all that we do; ensuring that patient care, safety and quality are the highest priority.

The QEQM Hospital Acute Medical unit comprises two short-stay Acute Medical Units (A & B), adjacent to the Same Day Emergency Care Unit. Our newly built 'Rapid Assessment & Majors' area within the ED footprint serves as an ED - Acute care interface for medical patients, overseen by the ED in-reach Acute physician and Geriatric / Frailty Team. There will be a contribution to the on-call weekday Rota of approximately 1:10 weekday (Category A = 5%) and moving forward a weekend commitment of around 1 in 18 with zero days off in lieu of working a weekend.
