The role of Specialist Clinical or Counselling Psychologist at East London NHS Foundation Trust in Bethnal Green offers an opportunity for newly or recently qualified psychologists to engage with clients facing severe and enduring mental health difficulties within a diverse community. This position is part of a fixed-term pilot project aimed at developing a modern, patient-centered model of care that is accessible and culturally sensitive. The psychologist will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and a Highly Specialist Clinical Psychologist, providing supervision and ensuring the delivery of high-quality services around the clock.

Key responsibilities include setting up and reviewing care plans, engaging in co-production with service users, offering training and education, and conducting comprehensive assessments, including risk formulation. The role also involves promoting the needs of service users while providing a safe and effective response to urgent community mental health needs, including support for relatives and caregivers. This position is designed to create a compassionate and empathetic care environment that actively addresses the barriers to mental health support.
