The role of Apprentice Therapeutic Radiographer at Freeman Hospital offers a three-year degree apprenticeship designed to equip candidates with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed to become qualified Therapeutic Radiographers within the NHS. Apprentices will work under the supervision of experienced radiographers in a team setting to deliver safe and effective radiotherapy treatments to adult cancer patients. The program leads to a BSc (Hons) in Therapeutic Radiography and prepares graduates for registration with the Health Care Professions Council.

Apprentices will gain hands-on experience by rotating through various departments, learning to operate equipment such as CT scanners and Linear Accelerators while interacting directly with patients and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. The apprenticeship requires commitment to both work-based learning and mandatory educational sessions at Sheffield Hallam University, with a focus on adhering to regulations and maintaining high professional standards in patient care. Eligibility criteria include residency requirements and necessary qualifications in English and mathematics.
