Hywel Dda University Health Board is seeking a motivated and qualified HCPC Registered Biomedical Scientist for a permanent full-time Specialist Biomedical Scientist position within the Biochemistry section at Glangwili General Hospital in Carmarthen. The role involves participating in a shift pattern to support round-the-clock services, including out-of-hours work on the Biochemistry rota. Candidates should ideally have a Specialist Diploma or equivalent experience, and will be responsible for providing services across Biochemistry, Haematology, Coagulation, and Blood Transfusion using advanced automation systems. The successful applicant may also work across multiple sites within the Carmarthenshire Division.

The position is classified as Band 6, with an opportunity for applicants without a Specialist Diploma to enter under an educational development plan, achieving increased pay increments while working towards the qualification. Welsh language proficiency is desirable but not mandatory, with support offered to non-Welsh speakers to meet language requirements. Interviews for the role are scheduled for February 18, 2025.
