To support and deputise for the Team Leader, taking managerial, clinical and professional responsibility for a team of practitioners.
To support staff, ensuring the provision of high quality patient care in the most efficient and safe manner in accordance with Directorate and Hospital policies and procedures
We are looking for a Deputy Team Leader who can maintain the core values required to provide high visible presence in the clinical area ensuring Trust values and behaviours, theatre etiquette, training, policies and procedures are appropriately followed by leading by example and speaking up.
You will need to motivate the team, and provide a positive influence to improve theatre efficiency and ensure patients receive a high quality of safe and efficient care.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to use own initiative is essential along with effective planning and organisation of your time and the ability to work under pressure.
You will also be able to demonstrate that you have had previous experience of leading change previously and have a good track record of delivering initiatives and new ways of working.
You must have considerable experience within the recovery aspects with the operating department and sound clinical knowledge within the area of emergency surgery and the required clinical skills to work closely with the existing team structure, ideally at a minimum of 3 years at Band 5 level. You should hold a recognised mentor qualification and be able to demonstrate evidence of teaching and clinical supervision within the clinical setting.
