The Receptionist will be the first point of contact for visitors to department. They will work as part of a busy team providing professional reception duties and comprehensive clerical support to the service, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
The post holder will perform front of house duties and be expected to liaise in a professional manner with patients, colleagues, members of the public and other agencies involved in patient care as well as undertaking a wide spectrum of duties within the confines of the role.
The post holder will be expected to use their own initiative when undertaking duties.
They will help to achieve the highest standards for patient care, which reflects the quality and standards and mission of the University Health Board, following appropriate systems, procedures, policies and processes.
To plan their own day to day tasks and duties.
To communicate effectively with patients on a face-to-face basis, or via the
telephone, using tact and diplomacy to relay routine information and
overcome any barriers to communication such as hard of hearing, learning
difficulties.
To ensure confidentiality is maintained at all times
To book Consultant led clinics, and obtain patient notes in preparation for
the clinics.
To book therapist appointments on Welsh PAS (Myrddin) Patient System,
and sending out appointment letters.
To respond appropriately and efficiently to all external and internal
telephone queries, using initiative to deal with routine queries and
questions.
To maintain effective communication with all members of the multi-
disciplinary team.
To maintain an up to date taxi control log
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
