The role of Consultant Psychiatrist with the Central Manchester Home Based Treatment Team at Greater Manchester Mental Health NHSFT is a full-time position that entails senior clinical responsibilities in a multidisciplinary environment. The successful candidate will lead a team composed of various healthcare professionals, including GP trainees, nurses, and psychologists, to deliver direct clinical care and evidence-based interventions to patients referred to the team. Key responsibilities include providing clinical leadership, supporting care organisation, conducting Mental Health Act assessments, and offering expert advice on patient care, while also ensuring collaboration with external agencies and facilitating consultations with GPs.

In addition to clinical duties, the Consultant Psychiatrist will supervise medical students and junior doctors, contribute to professional development and audits, and partake in ongoing evaluation and improvement of services. The role requires participation in continuing professional development (CPD) and collaboration with colleagues to ensure adequate service coverage. Candidates are expected to uphold standards with the Royal College of Psychiatrists through annual appraisals and active engagement in teaching and development within the multidisciplinary team.
