The James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 4 Assistant Practitioner to join their Endoscopy Unit in Gorleston. The role requires a commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care within a multidisciplinary framework, with responsibilities including assisting in the preparation of patients and equipment for endoscopic procedures, supporting patients throughout their pre-, peri-, and post-procedure care, and undertaking non-invasive monitoring of observations. The Assistant Practitioner will also perform venepuncture and cannulation, contribute to the patient admission and discharge processes, and provide psychological support to patients and their families.

The successful candidate will work under the supervision of qualified nurses or Endoscopists, accurately follow instructions from the multidisciplinary team, and document patient care properly while upholding confidentiality. In addition to participating in on-call services for gastrointestinal emergencies, the Assistant Practitioner will also be responsible for recognizing any changes in patients’ conditions and responding appropriately in emergencies, all while ensuring adherence to Trust policies and guidelines.
