The "Area Pharmacist - Offender Health Nottinghamshire" role at Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust involves supporting the Directorate Pharmacist in delivering person-centred medicines optimisation within various offender health sites, including HMP Ranby, HMP Nottingham, and HMP Lowdham Grange. The position encompasses clinical pharmacy duties, including the provision of professional advice, the management of clinical governance related to medicines, and strategic leadership in improving prescribing standards. The pharmacist will also supervise and develop pharmacy technicians and contribute to a large multidisciplinary healthcare team dedicated to enhancing healthcare services for incarcerated individuals.

The role requires a regular presence across all prison sites in Nottinghamshire, with responsibilities split between frontline clinical tasks and strategic project work. The Area Pharmacist will play a key role in ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, engaging in population-focused interventions to improve treatment efficiency, and collaborating on trust-wide initiatives to ensure high-quality healthcare is delivered to offenders.
