Job Summary: Maternity Support Worker Apprentice
North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a compassionate Maternity Support Worker Apprentice in London to provide essential family-centered care to women and babies under the supervision of registered midwives. This position is part of a 22-month development program for Senior Healthcare Support Workers within the Maternity Services department, combining on-the-job training with educational study time, leading to an Advanced Apprenticeship Level 3.
Key responsibilities include supporting midwives in clinical care, assisting with postnatal care, providing breastfeeding support, maintaining hygiene and safety standards, and participating in administrative tasks. Candidates should ideally have prior experience in a maternity department and must demonstrate professionalism, effective communication, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
The role includes flexible working hours, opportunities for professional development through in-house training, and potential for permanent employment upon successful completion of the apprenticeship. Applicants with relevant qualifications at the same level or higher are not eligible.
