The role of Consultant Psychiatrist in Old Age Psychiatry at Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board in Wrexham involves overseeing and providing professional supervision to junior medical staff, ensuring compliance with health and legal standards, including the New Deal and Working Time Directive. The consultant will also undertake administrative tasks related to patient care, accurately record clinical activities, and participate in service planning and the academic program of the Health Board for continuous professional development.

In addition to managing junior staff and contributing to annual appraisals, the consultant must maintain professional registration with the General Medical Council and adhere to the Mental Health Act and other professional codes of conduct.
