                                                     To provide a qualified specialist clinical psychology service to the adult clients of the South Westminster Mental Health hub, across all sectors of care; providing specialist psychological assessment and therapy at the same time as offering where required, advice and consultation on clients' psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues and to other, non-professional carers; working autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures. Also to utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research within the area served by the team/service.   This is a four session (two day) locum post: Initially a six month post and there is a possibility of it being extended to a year.   This an exciting opportunity for a Clinical or counselling Psychologist to join an innovative, energetic and supportive Psychology service, working as an integrated part of the South Westminster Mental health hubs.   Psychology is both valued and well established and we enjoy close relationships with our nurse, social work and medical colleagues and play a key role in Psychological therapies meetings in thinking about and triaging referrals.   The post holder will provide a range of short and medium term evidenced based interventions to clients with severe and enduring problems, aimed at preventing deteriorating ill health. Formulation and assessment will be used to enable clients to understand their difficulties and as a means to offer evidence based interventions.   The post holder will be an excellent communicator, able to work with complex clients and as a team member, contributing and developing the group and psychosocial programme that we provide in South Westminster. We provide level 3 interventions such as schema therapy, Tree of life groups as well as individual interventions, whilst supporting level 2 interventions such as grounding and mindfulness groups.   Supervision is highly valued in supporting clinical work and the post holder will be expected to make use of the reflective spaces provided.   About us  Clinical:    To provide specialist psychological assessments of clients referred to the team based upon the appropriate use, interpretation and integration of complex data from a variety of sources including psychological and neuropsychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with clients, family members and others involved in the clients care.   To formulate and implement plans for the formal psychological treatment and/or management of a clients mental health problems, based upon an appropriate conceptual framework of the clients problems, and employing methods based upon evidence of efficacy, across the full range of care settings   To be responsible for implementing a range of psychological interventions for individuals, carers, families and groups, within and across teams employed individually and in synthesis, adjusting and refining psychological formulations drawing upon different explanatory models and maintaining a number of provisional hypotheses.   To evaluate and make decisions about treatment options taking into account both theoretical and therapeutic models and highly complex factors concerning historical and developmental processes that have shaped the individual, family or group.
