Band 7: £46,148 to £52,809 a year pro rata / per annum  PERMANENT  GOOD SALARY

Sonographersrequired with experience in performing and independently reporting a wide range of ultrasound examinations. Experience in general medical ultrasound essential. Experience in any combination of Gynaecology, small parts, paediatrics, vascular or musculoskeletal ultrasound preferable.

Must possess BSc Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent and an appropriate Post Graduate qualification in ultrasound with significant clinical ultrasound experience. Applicants should be able to scan / work independently but also as part of an integrated team.

Extended working days or weekend/ Bank Holiday work will be required.

  • The post holders will participate in provision of a high quality ultrasound service for a wide range of referrers across all Trust ultrasound facilities, both in hospital and community based sites. They will assist in the training and mentoring of Ultrasound students and Registrars. Deliver a service that is focussed to the patients' needs and the needs of referring clinicians and other medical staff.
  • Ultrasound examinations are undertaken at the Royal Victoria Infirmary, Freeman Hospital and Community sites, rotation to any of the sites will be required.
  • Candidates should be flexible and able to adapt to the day to day workload, prioritising workload based on clinical urgency. Also assist management deliver the longer strategic planning and delivery of the service.
