The Advanced Practitioner (IUC-CAS) role at North East Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust involves an experienced clinician who demonstrates autonomous practice and complex decision-making skills, supported by Degree-level education or RCN Accreditation. The successful candidate will provide expert clinical assessment and treatment for a diverse caseload of patients in Emergency, Urgent, and Unscheduled care settings. Responsibilities include conducting patient assessments through telephone and video consultations, developing treatment plans, which may involve prescribing, and collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure high-quality care.

- The Advanced Practitioner (IUC-CAS) is an experienced clinician who can demonstrate a high level of autonomous practice and complex decision making. This is underpinned by Degree level education or equivalent (or RCN Accreditation), covering the four pillars of advanced practice; clinical practice, leadership and education, research, education.
- Successful applicants will provide an expert level of clinical assessment and support to the care and treatment of a diverse and undetermined caseload of patients within Emergency, Urgent and Unscheduled care areas.
- The practitioner will achieve this by using theirin-depth knowledgeexperience and broad range of techniques, to assess, investigate, interpret, diagnose, treat and refer or discharge patients.
The Advanced Practitioner will undertake clinical assessment to form a diagnosis and provide a treatment plan, which may include prescribing.
Patient assessment will involve telephone and some video conferencing consultations.
As an Adv Prac in the IUC-CAS you will work across a variety of settings, being the first point of contact at an appropriate place and time.
The post holder will provide expert clinical and professional leadership and work collaboratively as part of the team to deliver a high quality service that meets the health and social care needs of all patients.
