Main duties of the job


Requirements:

1. Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration as a Radiographer

2. Diploma/Degree of College of Radiographers. Successful candidates will participate in a full 24/7 shift system to include weekends and bank holidays

3. Specialist CT knowledge must be up to date and underpinned by theoretical and practical experience

4.. Ability to train other members of staff including all clinical staff at undergraduate and postgraduate levels

5. Advanced knowledge of CT safety aspects

6. Knowledge of contrast media, its effects and adverse reactions and contra-indications

7. Demonstrates an understanding and experience of working with performance objectives and organisation targets

8. Ability to review images, detect abnormalities and discuss further imaging with the radiologists.

We are expanding our imaging team to support our Community Diagnostic Centre and are looking for experienced CT radiographers to join us at this exciting time.

The CT Radiographer role will work within a multidisciplinary team to support delivery both the acute hospital scanner and the community diagnostic centre providing opportunities for a wide range of both routine and complex CT scanning.

The team are supported by senior imaging support workers, support workers and admin teams.

We currently have 2 Siemens CT scanner within the main hospitals and an additional 2 Siemens Xcite CT Scanners in the community diagnostic centre which opened its doors in March 2024. We provide a wide range of examinations including interventional and CT Colonography including bowel cancer screening.

The department provides a 7 day service and as such a rotation through nights and weekend shifts will be required to support this.

Evidence of knowledge and experience within an NHS CT department is essential for this post

Cannulation skills are desirable, but training will be provided if necessary.

Our friendly team is very supportive, and as a new starter, you will be assigned a mentor who will help you to complete a period of induction.
