Health Care First Partnership in Leeds is seeking a Health Care Assistant to join their innovative NHS GP practice and contribute to providing exceptional clinical care to patients. The role involves collaborating with a dedicated team to deliver prescribed patient care, conduct health checks, perform ECG recordings, phlebotomy, spirometry, and manage wound care, among other responsibilities. Additional tasks include monitoring and managing laboratory samples, maintaining surgical equipment, assisting GPs during minor operations, and promoting health and well-being.
As a pivotal member of the healthcare team, the Health Care Assistant will also support various clinical activities and assessments, contribute to hypertension and cardiovascular risk assessments, and help maintain a safe and efficient healthcare environment. We are recruiting a Health Care Assistant to work alongside our established team to provide high class clinical care to our patient population.
As a vital member of our team, you will play a pivotal role providing and delivering prescribed programmes of patient care.
Duties and Responsibilities
- New patient health checks
- ECG recording
- Phlebotomy
- Spirometry
- Wound care, ulcer care and Doppler
- Influenza, Pneumonia and B12 injections
- Ear syringing
- Hypertension and CVD risk assessments, inc 24 hour BP monitoring
- Chaperoning duties
- Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/Nurses
- Maintenance of surgical equipment
- Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording
- Surgical equipment and vaccine re-stocking and stock rotation
- Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms
- Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions including assisting GPs during the performance of minor operations
- Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients health and well-being
- Undertaking specific clinical activities for named patients that have been delegated and taught specifically in relation to that individual
- Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted
- Assisting with the collection and collation of data on needs related to health and well-being
