We are looking to recruit a part-time salaried GP for maternity cover for approximately 6 months or longer. We encourage clinical leadership, career development, and progression to Partnership in time if mutually agreeable and desirable. We are looking for candidates with enthusiasm for General Practice, who care about its future, who want to get involved and who would like the satisfaction that continuity of care, building patient rapport and being part of a team brings to being a GP. We are a training practice for both specialist trainees and medical students.
Co-operating with the admin team on the QOF work (understanding of chronic disease management).
Going to HVs.
Prescribing and signing repeat prescriptions.
Dealing with assigned queries, paperwork and workflow case load.
Attending regular Clinical Governance Meetings.
Support and contribute to the development of Practice clinical procedures and protocols
Accurate and timely input of patient data onto the clinical system
Liaise with other health care professionals when required
Act in a way that protects the confidentiality of patients and maintains the integrity of the patient / Practice relationship
The following are the main core responsibilities of a salaried GP. These will vary as workload dictates.
Provision of care as detailed in the Primary Care Contract.
Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance.
Effective management of acute and long term conditions.
Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescriptions and other administrative tasks.
Undertake Triage and other duty doctor roles
Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance.
Accepting an equal share of the practice workload by working collaboratively.
Work towards innovative practice and quality improvements within the practice.
Assist in the work towards completing QOF across all practices.
Attend and contribute to practice meetings as required.
Complete home visits.
Participate in practice audits as requested.
Participate in the review of significant and near miss events applying a structured root cause analysis approach
