Band Consultant: £105,504 to £139,882 a year per annum  PERMANENT 
HAEMATOLOGY NHS ON-CALL
The Medical Oncologist Consultant role at Northampton General Hospitals NHS Trust is a permanent position that involves both clinical and managerial responsibilities in oncology. The candidate must hold MRCP (UK) or an equivalent qualification and be eligible for the GMC specialist register, with expectations to obtain relevant certifications within six months post-interview. The initial job plan comprises 10 Programmed Activities (PAs), with a focus on direct clinical care, supporting professional activities, and on-call duties as part of a 1 in 12 rota.

The consultant will collaborate with other healthcare professionals to manage oncology patients, uphold clinical standards, participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings, contribute to clinical trials, and engage in professional development through audits and teaching. Additional responsibilities include ensuring compliance with local and national standards, participating in effective clinical governance, and contributing to the operational management of the department.
