The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Nurse Specialist to join the established Sarcoma Nursing Team at Freeman Hospital. This part-time role (24 hours/week) involves working collaboratively across sites within a multi-disciplinary team under the guidance of Band 7 leads and Consultant leads. Key responsibilities include addressing the physical, psychological, and social needs of patients throughout their care pathways, acting as a clinical supervisor to peers, and providing specialist advice to cancer multidisciplinary teams.

Candidates should have good communication skills and a preference for surgical experience and basic oncology knowledge, although the latter is not essential. The role requires the ability to deliver difficult news sensitively and contribute to the development of nursing practices and patient care pathways. The Trust supports flexible working arrangements to accommodate both service needs and staff preferences.
