The Adult Community team are looking for fulltime developing band 5/6s to work in Berkshire. (BHFT ) Your base will be determined by service need and can be flexible though occasionally need you to work at other sites or attend meetings within the locality - both East and West Berkshire .
We are looking for someone who is NQT or with experience and motivation and a desire to be part of a small but enthusiastic adult team.
As a Developing Band 5 you will be supported to make the transition from student to autonomous practitioner with guidance from senior staff. Once you have completed the necessary competencies you will then progress onto a Band 6 level practitioner.
For newly qualified staff, you will work your way through our Preceptorship programme over the first year of employment which will help you make this transition and consolidate all the skills and knowledge gained throughout your training. Following this we will support you to ensure you develop the necessary skills to move into a band 6 role within the team.
It is a completely adult caseload and fully supported by experienced SLT's band 6s and the band 7s Clinical specialists
You will be closely supervised to sign off your NQT competencies and dysphagia training will be provided. LSVT training is also desirable or provided as we offer this to our PD clients.
We now use Teams to keep in touch and have regular weekly updates and team chats.
Working with clients with acquired disorders -eg PD Stroke
To provide advice to parents/carers regarding the management and care of patients/clients with communication and swallowing difficulties.
Using RIO patient held records
Provide LSVT to PD clients
Group working with specific client groups
Actively participate in team meetings
Work flexibly in response to service need across multiple sites
Liaise with the team for support on a day to day basis
Provide a service in all community settings including Out-paitents clinics, home visits
