The Transforming Care Autism Team are a specialist assessment and consultation multidisciplinary team who work alongside SPFT colleagues to support discharges and avoid admissions for autistic young people and adults. We have some additional short term funding and we are looking for B6 or B7 OTs who have some formal sensory integration training or who have completed SPFT in-house sensory training and have significant experience of considering the sensory needs of individuals with complex presentations and who are interested in working with autistic young people and/or adults who are inpatient or at risk of admission using neuroaffirmative approaches. The OTs within the team provide specialist assessments such as sensory and functional assessments in order to support a holistic formulation of how neurodiversity may be contributing to presenting risks. Individual interventions may be completed with individuals to collaboratively understand their neurodiversity and make recommendations for self-strategies and reasonable adjustments required. About us To manage a caseload of complex clients, using evidence based, client centred principlesto assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions. To provide specialist clinical advice and input for clients with complex problems and needs. To ensure occupational therapy contribution to the provision of quality clinical care andperformance standards. To participate in the planning, development and evaluation of occupational therapy andlocal services within a designated team, holding responsibility for defined projects. Operate as a specialist occupational therapy practitioner and manage an appropriateclinical caseload.2. Promote evidence based practice in occupational therapy and the relevant mentalhealth service/ learning disability service.3. Provide a specialised range of clinical interventions and demonstrate knowledge ofmodels of practice.4. Monitor, evaluate and modify treatment in order to measure progress and ensureeffectiveness of interventions.5. Provide specialist clinical assessment, formulation, intervention, review and whereappropriate CPA including care co-ordination for service users, their families andcarers.6. Contribute to the development of multi-disciplinary best practice clinical guidelines andprotocols.7. Have a basic working knowledge of the medication prescribed for the persons in theircare. To include usual dosage, common side effects and the need for any specialmonitoring. Any reported or observed side effects must be brought to the attention ofthe prescriber.8. Supervise the work of more junior staff and provide support and guidance.9. Ensure that up to date written and electronic records and activity data are maintained inaccordance with Professional and Trust standards and to provide specialistoccupational therapy reports relevant to the practice setting.10. To adhere to Trust risk management policies and procedures.11. To champion occupational and recovery approaches within the service area.12. Be aware of and able to use de-escalation techniques
